Top Toys My 1-Year-Old LOVES and Reaches For Everyday

Keeping your toddler's attention can be challenging for several reasons, especially on those long afternoons at home. Their brains are developing rapidly, leading to a short attention span since they are constantly craving new experiences. We have tried so many different age-appropriate toys, and of course, each child will differ in their interests but here are some of our favorites.

  1. The Work Bench Tool Set - This is an amazing gift for a toddler! The tool bench will encourage kids to explore the world of tools and learn how they work, improving hand-eye coordination, motor skills, and fostering creativity.

  2. Pop Tube Sensory Toys - This pack of sensory tubes is hands down, the simplest and most loved toy day after day. These colorful Montessori pop pipes allow your little one to calm, fidget, improve motor skills, and explore new shapes. It grabs their attention with the popping texture and allows independent self-play at home or on the go.

  3. VTech Basketball and Soccer Goal - This complex multi-purpose sports center is a crowd favorite. It has many different features with lots of different sounds to engage your little one. It aids in motor skills and hand-eye coordination while teaching your little one about sports! Great sports center that will give you loads of fun together!

  4. Hammer and Nail Pounding Bench - The pounding toy is a great toy that keeps your little one's attention. For us, it's a great toy aversion in the hitting and throwing stage. We direct that curiosity directly to the toy to avoid hitting things he shouldn't be! All in all, it's a toy that fosters hand-eye coordination and motor skills!

  5. Soft Plush Car Set - A highly engaging and educative learning toy for little ones. No small pieces that can turn into choking hazards, easy to clean, and continuously capture curiosity with their wind-up speed. Great starter car toy set for little boys!

  6. Play Grocery Cart - This play cart is fun for your little one to push around and put items inside the basket once they start taking those first steps. The toy encourages imaginative and pretend play to help improve concentration and memory.

  7. Wooden Sorting and Stacking Set - This stacking set helps to build early shape, color and size differentiation skills when babies try to match the blocks to the target or make various combinations. Regardless of the matching aspect of this toy, its different textures, holes, and feels keep my kids engaged.

  8. Circle Stacking Ring Set - This ring set became a favorite as early as 9 months and has continued to be an intriguing toy for my toddler. It has doubled as a teether with the different textured rings and strengthens hand-eye coordination! At 14 months he still enjoys stacking the rings and chewing on the different textures.

Remember, there's no need to feel like you're constantly entertaining your one-year-old. Their natural curiosity and desire to explore are enough to keep them engaged with the world around them. The best toys are often the simplest ones that spark their imagination and allow them to learn and grow!
